Right Machine, Right Time: JCH Plant Hire’s Tesab 700i Success
Specialising in Plant Hire for demolition – few know the industry better than James Currie, owner of JCH Plant Hire. Established over 35 years ago, the company has built its reputation on delivering quality work for clients across the demolition sector.
The addition of the Tesab 700i Jaw Crusher, quickly became an essential part of operations – thanks to the right machine arriving at exactly the right time.
“Paul was in the right place at the right time – actually, the best right time. I might not have bought a Tesab otherwise, but now that I’ve had it two years, I wouldn’t look back.” – James Currie, Owner, JCH Plant Hire
The Right Machine, the Right Moment
When JCH’s previous crusher broke down on a key project, the pressure was on. Buying quarry stone wasn’t an option, and downtime was costing money. That’s when Paul Toulouse, Stewart Plant Sales’ Material Processing Manager, stepped in.
Paul arranged a demonstrator machine straight away, and it was on site and working within hours. The performance spoke for itself, and the 700i soon became a permanent fixture in the fleet.
Built for Demolition
For JCH Plant Hire, the 700i’s design is well suited to the demands of demolition. Crusher operator John McClymont points to one key feature: the generous gap from the jaw to the belt.
“With demolition, rebar is always a challenge. The big gap means material flows through without blockages – it saves belts, saves downtime, and keeps us productive.” – John McClymont, Crusher Operator
The Tesab 700i has already proven itself capable of handling the toughest jobs. Averaging 500 tonnes a day through the machine, JCH can rely on consistent output that keeps projects moving.
Service that makes the difference
For James, the machine is only part of the story – the relationship with Stewart Plant Sales is just as important.
“Would I change to a different crusher? No. I’ll stick with Paul. Every machine can have issues, but it’s about how quickly and well they’re sorted – and Paul’s on it. We had a fault, and he called me back within 10 minutes to get it sorted for the next morning.”
Regular servicing is handled by Stewart Plant Sales engineers, with two years of service support already booked in advance. Even when minor frustrations arise, James praises the open communication and willingness to find solutions.
James finishes by saying “If you keep an open mind and work with each other, you can’t fault them. The whole journey – from buying to service – has been excellent.”
